Hydrofracturing is the process of putting hydraulic pressure on the bedrock surrounding the borehole(well) for the purpose of enhancing the yield of water. Bowie Bros. is equipped with this technology on demand while drilling a well. To "hydrofrac" a well, one needs a high volume high pressure pump, and a packer. The packer is lowered into the hole and inflated below the well casing. The packer creates a seal at the top of the hole. Water is then pumped at 25-60 gpm through the packer and into the bore hole. Once the bore hole is full, pressure will build. The pressure will blow water into the fractures cleaning out any obstructions. As the fractures are cleared, the pressure will drop
Once the hydrofracturing is done, the yield of the well is checked. This process is 90% effective.
