Resin
Media
that is used in water softeners. The media in a softener consists of small plastic beads that contain sites for
the exchange of ions. The resin can be either cation or anion. Cation resin is used to exchange positively charge
ions
and anion is used to exchange negatively charged ions. The term resin comes from the fact the media is made from
plastic resin.
