"A certification for consumer confidence..."
|
The following are excerpts from the NSF site. You can go to
this
page at the NSF site. You can also go to the drinking
water treatment section of the NSF site.
".....NSF International was founded in 1944 as the National Sanitation Foundation. We are an independent,
not-for-profit organization known around the world for the development of voluntary consensus standards, product
testing procedures, and certification services in the areas of public health, safety, and the environment.
NSF certification programs are recognized worldwide and are accredited by the American National Standards Institute
in the United States, the Standards Council of Canada, and the Dutch Accreditation Council for the European Community."
".......The NSF Mark is placed on millions of consumer, commercial, and industrial products annually.
NSF Certification is not a one-time activity. It involves annual inspection, periodic re-testing, and, if necessary,
enforcement through product recall, public notification, de-certification, etc.
NSF does not recommend, rate, or compare products. Instead, we test and verify that each certified product meets
all of the requirements of the specified standard(s) and that the manufacturers' claims are true. " |
